About Manifattura Lombarda
Traditional craftsmanship
All products bearing the Manifattura Lombarda label are produced in the traditional way at the mill. We cherish this traditional craft – a beautiful but increasingly rare piece of heritage that we are keen to preserve. By working on a small scale, with local craftspeople and a touch of handwork, we work sustainably and with aesthetic care. An ode to craftsmanship that results in a unique and beautiful collection.

Natural materials
Most of the raw materials used in the weaving process are 100% natural in origin. Wool is in fact the most ecological fibre, as it is obtained by shearing sheep (or goats, in the case of cashmere) that live freely in an unpolluted environment free from chemical treatment. Our philosophy is that suppliers are selected on the basis of strict internal protocols and ongoing quality-control testing. The origin of the raw materials is certified by country of origin; depending on the type, these are mainly New Zealand, Australia and Mongolia.

Sustainability
The throws and the rest of the Manifattura Lombarda collection are carefully selected for sustainable materials, and every year we work on improvements towards a more environmentally conscious production process. An important aspect is our use of sustainable and natural fibres, such as recycled cotton and organic wool. Dyes and colourants are natural or have a low environmental impact.
Striving for sustainability in the production of throws is not only about reducing our ecological footprint, but also about creating high-quality, long-lasting products that people can treasure and that have a smaller impact on the planet.
